PROCESS & SCOPE
BARK N' BITCHES is a retail shop in the infamous Fairfax district of Los Angeles, CA.
CASE STUDY: Bark N' Bitches opened as a high-end retail shop featuring unique pet products. It was inspired by the owner's love for dogs and a long-standing reputation within the community for rescuing them from high-risk situations. The goal was for the shop's revenue to further support those efforts.
A few years after opening, the economic crash had taken a toll and the store was facing closure. The founder (Shannon) decided to combine her two efforts under one roof, making Bark N' Bitches the first humane pet shop of its kind.
MY ROLE: I worked closely with the owner from inception to carve out the brand's look, feel, messaging, and positioning. Then again through the evolution and pivot phase to support the new (aforementioned) direction. The pivot was subtle, as the original brand strategy accounted for (unforeseen) things of this nature.
DESIGNED the complete visual brand identity from logo through all supporting elements, in-store graphics, apparel, (multiple t-shirt designs over the years) signage, interior brand consultation, and original website (front-end design).
ART DIRECTED Illustrators, web developers, and signage vendors.
